Transformation
Assembled plasmids are transformed into bacteria, typically Escherichia coli, to create microbial cell lines capable of replicating large amounts of plasmid DNA. Transformations are done using electric, heat or chemical shocks to induce uptake of plasmid DNA. Transformation protocols can be automated on a Beckman Coulter Life Sciences Biomek i-Series Automated Liquid Handler.
Genedata Bioprocess increases the efficiency of the end-to-end pDNA development workflow, including pDNA component design and automated gene assembly, all plasmid production steps including transformation, colony picking, purification, and QC. Genedata Bioprocess tracks the history of each plasmid batch and all plate operations. It facilitates workflow automation, barcoding, and high-throughput processes, capturing all data in a structured format providing a robust foundation for predictive modeling and AI/ML applications.
