Cell Recovery
Transformation methods expose cells to large amounts of environmental stress and necessitate a recovery step. Typically, recovery media does not include a selective element, because cells require time to begin to transcribe plasmids. Assess the growth of cells post recovery by measuring optical density using a Molecular Devices SpectraMax plate reader to capture ideal timing to plate cells on a selective medium. Load cells into a Molecular Devices QPix 400-Series Microbial Colony Picker to efficiently plate and pick colonies using your selection method of choice.
