Single cell isolation workflow is an integral part of cross-disciplinary applications in multi-omics, immune oncology, rare cell identification, drug discovery, stem cell or regenerative medicine research, biologics development, CRISPR gene editing technologies, mRNA vaccine development and epigenetics research

DispenCell™ - Single Cell Dispenser is an affordable simple yet elegant pipetting robot, designed for fast, easy and gentle single-cell isolation. The system performs single cell seeding using Impedance based technology with a sensing tip that detects the cell passage into a well plate and generates electrical signal (Coulter counter). This recorded electrical signature profile provides traceability and monoclonality assessment for the entire plate.

The open deck contains two separate carriers to load 6,12,24,96- or 384- well plates. The dispensing head with its dispensing unit can move freely on a 3-axes robotic stage and is compatible with a variety of cell types. The intuitive software interface with single cell analysis tool provides proof of clonality report.

Our automated single cell dispensers provide efficient isolation of single cells (96-well plate >10 min) while preserving cell viability.

Patented sensing tips on the system allow rapid single cell dispensing with no cross contamination. The impedance technology for single cell seeding allows for very gentle cell handling (>0.2 psi), similar to manual pipetting, ensuring high viability with minimal stress induced cell response during seeding, ultimately improving the data quality of your single cell assays.

It’s simple user friendly design requires no cleaning or calibration making it easier to operate or maintain.

FAQs

What applications can benefit from single cell dispensing?

Whether monoclonality assurance, CRISPR screening, cell line development, or antibody discovery, single-cell dispensers can be used in a range of applications:

  • High-throughput screening: This is achieved by dispensing individual cells into various multi-well plates, allowing the simultaneous testing of numerous clones with specific characteristics. It enables the screening of extensive compound libraries for applications such as toxicity testing, identifying cellular pathways, and drug screening.
  • Monoclonal antibody production: Automated dispensers can be used in therapeutic antibody applications by facilitating the isolation of homogeneous populations of antibody-secreting cells with desired characteristics.
  • Functional genomics: Combining genomic technologies like single-cell RNA sequencing with single-cell isolation allows for studying gene expression patterns at the individual cell level, providing insights into cellular responses and rare cell types within populations.
  • Cell line engineering: It facilitates the selection and isolation of cells carrying desired gene modifications. Using the device, you can study gene function, screen for drugs, and produce targeted biologics.
  • Disease modeling: These dispensers allow the isolation and establishment of cell lines that accurately reflect specific diseases. The patient-derived cell lines, serving as cellular models for genetic disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer, are instrumental in various research endeavors, therapeutic developments, and personalized medicine initiatives.
  • Cell line characterization: Automated cell dispensers help streamline the screening and characterization of cell lines based on different parameters, such as stability, viability, growth rate, and productivity.
