Scaling Oncology NGS for Biomarker-Ready Translational Research

Randy Pares, Automation Staff Specialist, Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT)
Randy is a Automation Staff Specialist at Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT). He earned his Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno, and has spent the last decade focused on laboratory automation at Hamilton Company and Beckman Coulter with an emphasis on Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and genomics. In this capacity, he developed solutions on Hamilton STAR and Beckman Coulter Biomek i-Series liquid handlers and led high-value automation partnerships with Illumina, Twist Bioscience, and IDT.
Eedann McCord, Ph.D., Sr. Field Applications Scientist, Beckman Coulter Life Sciences
Eedann McCord, PhD has worked as a liquid handling applications scientist at Beckman Coulter Life Sciences for 5 years. Based in Seattle, WA, she studied the pharmacology and biophysics of ion channels at UW for her doctoral and post-doctoral research after undergraduate training in neurophysiology at the University of Texas, in Austin. With broad lab experience in molecular biology, cell culture, protein expression and purification, and electrophysiology, she greatly enjoys automating a wide range of scientific workflows with Biomek and Echo liquid handlers.
