ATTO MB2 is a derivative of the well-known redox dye Methylene Blue.
ATTO-TEC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Leica Microsystems
Optical properties
- λ abs = 668 nm
- ε max = 1.1×105 M -1 cm -1
- CF 260 = ε 260 /ε max = 0.08
- CF 2800 = ε 280 /ε max = 0.24
ATTO MB2 is a derivative of the well-known redox dye Methylene Blue. The dye can be reversibly reduced to the colorless leuko form. Upon oxidation (e.g. with oxygen) the dye recovers and the absorption is fully restored. In common with most ATTO-labels the dye shows a high extinction coefficient.
The dye is moderately hydrophilic. ATTO MB2 is a cationic dye. After coupling to a substrate the dye carries a net electrical charge of +1.
- High thermal and photo-stability
- Redox Label
