ATTO 590 is a novel fluorescent label belonging to the class of rhodamine dyes.

ATTO-TEC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Leica Microsystems

Optical properties

  • λ abs = 593 nm
  • ε max = 1.2×105 M -1 cm -1
  • λ fl = 622 nm
  • n fl = 80 %
  • τ fl = 3.7 ns
  • CF 260 = ε 260max = 0.39
  • CF 280 = ε 280 / ε max = 0.43

ATTO 590 is a novel fluorescent label belonging to the class of rhodamine dyes. Characteristic features of the label are strong absorption, high fluorescence quantum yield, and high thermal and photo-stability. Thus ATTO 590 is highly suitable for single-molecule detection applications and high-resolution microscopy such as PALM, dSTORM, STED etc. Additionally the dye highly qualifies to be applied in flow cytometry (FACS), fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH and many more.

The dye is moderately hydrophilic. As supplied ATTO 590 consists of a mixture of two isomers with practically identical absorption and fluorescence. However, on request the dye can also be supplied in isomeric purity.

The fluorescence is excited most efficiently in the range 575 - 610 nm.

Characteristic properties of our fluorescent dyes

  • Strong absorption (high extinction coefficient)
  • High fluorescence quantum yield
  • High photostability
