ATTO 540Q DOPE Labeled Phospholipid 5 mg
Product No. AD-540Q-165 ATTO-Dye Labeled Phospholipids In recent years the investigation of biological membranes, e.g. intracellular membranes of live cells, plasma membranes etc., has become a major subject of interest. As a result there is a growing demand for fluorescent dye-labeled lipids, in particular glycero-phospholipids, to be incorporated in biological membranes. ATTO offers a variety of glycero-phospholipids, carrying one or two fatty acid chains (lipophilic groups) and a phosphate ester residue (hydrophilic group). ATTO-dye fluorescent phospholipids are labeled at the hydrophilic head group. After incorporation in, e.g., a plasma membrane (phospholipid bilayer) the fluorophore is located at the water/lipid interface of the membrane. ATTO 540Q is a novel fluorescence quencher (energy acceptor in FRET process). Characteristic features of the label are strong absorption and high thermal and photo-stability. The dye is moderately hydrophilic. ATTO 540Q is a cationic dye.
After coupling to a substrate the dye carries a net electrical charge of +1. As supplied ATTO 540Q consists of a mixture of two isomers with practically identical absorption.
